BRONCHOSCOPY

Bronchoscopy is a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure that allows doctors to look inside the Lungs’ Airways. Bronchoscopy procedure involves a thin tube with a light and camera at the end. The doctor can observe the throat, larynx, trachea, and lower airways.
Bronchoscopy procedure is used to identify various Lung diseases, such as Infections caused by Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi, Parasites, or Tuberculosis(TB). It can also help detect Inflammation in the Lungs due to Allergic Reactions and aid in the diagnosis of Lung Cancer or other Lung Diseases.

THORACOSCOPY

Thoracoscopy (also known as a Pleuroscopy) is a procedure done to examine the Pleural Space (the area between the Lungs and the Chest wall). A thoracoscope, which is similar to a Bronchoscope, is inserted through a small incision in the chest.
Medical Thoracoscopy can be used to diagnose pleural diseases(Pleural Effusion, Pleural Tuberculosis, Pneumothorax ), take tissue samples, or even help to remove excess fluid that sometimes accumulates between these layers.

THORACOCENTESIS

Thoracentesis (Needle Thoracentesis) is a procedure where excess fluid that’s built up between the chest wall and the lung (in the Pleural Space) is removed using a needle or a catheter. Thoracentesis is done to relieve symptoms such as difficulty breathing and to analyze the fluid that’s accumulated in the pleural space.
Analyzing this fluid helps to diagnose the cause of the fluid buildup, which can be related to various conditions, including Infections, Heart Failure, or Cancer.

ICD INSERTION

ICD stands for Intercostal Drainage. ICD Insertion procedure is performed to remove air (Pneumothorax), Fluid (Pleural Effusion), or Pus (Empyema) from the Pleural Space via a Chest tube.
ICD Insertion procedure helps relieve symptoms like Chest pain and Breathlessness. It can be a life-saving intervention for conditions like a collapsed Lung or Infection.

ALLERGEN IMMUNOTHERAPY

Immunotherapy for Allergies is carried out by administering regular Allergy shots/drops to reduce the sensitivity to Allergens.
Over time, regular exposure to small, controlled amounts of particular Allergens helps the immune system become less reactive. It’s particularly used for Allergic Rhinitis, Allergic Asthma, Conjunctivitis (Eye Allergy), or Stinging Insect Allergy.
This long-term Allergen Immunotherapy treatment can lead to lasting relief from Allergy symptoms even after treatment is finished.

SKIN PRICK TEST

Skin prick test is the detective tool for an Allergy Specialist to figure out what you might be Allergic to that causes Sneezy or Itchy reactions in your body
This procedure is carried out by putting a tiny bit of the multiple reactive substances they think you’re Allergic to on your skin, usually on your forearm or back. Then, gently prick the skin (like a small pinch)so the substance goes under the surface
In about 15 to 20 minutes, if you’re Allergic to something tested, a small bump that’s red and itchy, like a mosquito bite, appears on your skin. This test can check for many Allergies at once, including things like pet dander, dust, pollen, foods, insects, and more
